Your Business Should Be Using Social Media

There are some comments on the previous post.
Colson said : “Actually I think these advantages are valid and count. However only if the blogs are updated frequently and regularly and if the design and content are kept up to professional standards. Which may be costly and time-consuming”
Another friend commented as follows : “In the vagaries of this life we are often faced with all sorts of problems whose solution we sometimes can not solve its own but requires help from others. In this connection the experience and knowledge we spread through the website may be very beneficial for those who need such help. . Thus through the Internet blog we can share experience or knowledge for the good of others”
While A Welcoming Hearth said : “ I think every business needs a blog, it is the way of the future….”

Furtherly Brian Gardner recommended the using of Social Media as he described below Social media has opened up an astounding number of ways to stay connected, and these are the top reasons why you should use social media for your business.
1. You Stay Visible
With everyone and their brother currently using social media to promote their brand, it’s important for any business to take advantage of the visibility social media allows you to have. By constantly updating your social media accounts you stay visible, connect with potential customers and remain in the forefront of someone’s mind when you’re constantly working on creating a visible brand. With that being said, you need to think of ways to connect to your customer base in order to remain a visible brand. For example, you can share your company’s story in order to help other social media users feel connected to you and invested in your success. You can also highlight a product or service that you offer in a casual way, getting the word out about your company and what they offer without being too “promotional.” There are numerous ways to stay visible as a business using social media; it’s simply a matter of getting out there and connecting with people.
2. It Helps with Customer Retention
Any business will benefit from customer retention, and social media allows you to do just that. You can direct consumers to your Facebook page and Twitter account via your regular business website or blog, giving customers an easy way to follow your business and stay updated on the latest company news, product offerings and the like. Additionally, social media allows you to connect with your customers in a way that makes them already feel like they know you, especially if you share your personal stories and anecdotes about your business. In this way, they are more likely to make a purchase via social media without a lot of sales pitches needed.
3. Customer Service is Easier and Quicker
So many people use social media that many of them choose to engage with businesses regularly in this way. Not only is it easier than being put on hold for hours via a telephone, but it’s a lot quicker as well. Any time a customer has a question, a problem or simply wants to compliment your business on a job well done, they can do so quickly and efficiently using social media. In turn, your company can respond to all customer inquiries just as fast. By using social media to improve your customer service, this also helps with customer retention. As you can see, there’s really no reason why you shouldn’t be using social media to help connect with your customer base!
4. It Can Increase Search Engine Rankings
Facebook and Twitter rank among the highest when it comes to social media sites, so make sure to update those frequently if you want to increase your search engine rankings for your business. Will this happen overnight? Likely not, but with frequent updates and staying on top of your customer base, you will be directing targeted traffic back to your website and helping your business rank higher in search engines. You can also ask your current customers to post reviews about your business on popular review sites such as Yelp; the more reviews your business has, the more people are talking about it and getting the word out. Of course, it’s important to search frequently for what is being said about you, so you can also stay on top of any negative reviews that may be posted that you need to address.
5. By Golly… It’s Free
As far as a cost-effective form of advertising goes, using social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are your best bet – because they are all free! By signing up for accounts with these social media sites, you can begin advertising and promoting your brand and products/services right away, without spending a dime on other online advertising methods. There really isn’t a reason you shouldn’t be using social media for your business, especially when it allows you to connect with customers on a deeper level and help you grow your brand quickly, efficiently and cheaply. Within a few moments, your brand can have a visible presence in social media and will only continue to grow if you stay on top of it for the long-term.
Good Luck !

5 Reasons Why Your Business Should Have a Blog

Fortunately I have a senior blogger friend Brian Gardner who always sends me his experiences in blogging through e-mail as I have quoted below.
While you may not think your business needs a blog, there are a number of reasons why it should. With the availability of both free and inexpensive blogging platforms, your business can set up a blog in a matter of minutes and begin promoting your brand and connecting with customers. If you still aren’t convinced, here are five reasons why your business should have a blog.
1. It Builds Traffic
There will always be a correlation between traffic and sales. The more traffic you have coming to your website, the more likely it is you’ll make a sale. With that said, having a blog you update frequently will allow you to direct targeted traffic to your business website, thereby increasing the chances you’ll make a sale. By linking your blog to other social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, you’ll also be building traffic and connecting with your customer base. Whenever you publish a new blog post, make sure to post a link to it on your social media accounts to attract more prospective buyers and build your brand. 2. It Increases your Credibility
People are more likely to purchase products or services from businesses they feel like they already “know,” and having a blog that you regularly update can help foster a community and allow your readers to feel like they know you, even if you’ve never met face to face. Every time you interact with your readers, by encouraging comments and responding to comments left, you are building your relationship with potential customers. By building those relationships, you are effectively creating a face for your brand, thereby increasing the likelihood of more sales. A blog is a simple way to do this, and allows customers to consistently reach out to you and stay updated on new developments, products or services offered by your business.
3. It Allows for Better Customer Service
By creating a blog for your business, it allows your customers to contact you. They don’t have to be put on hold, or wait for office hours to call you. All of the info about your company should be found on your blog, so customers who have any questions or want to find out more about your business can easily do so. Additionally, a blog is one of the best ways to update customers on new products or services being offered. You can also respond to customer inquiries quickly and more efficiently, and you can gain valuable feedback from your readership while using that feedback to make improvements and build a better business, as well as business relationships, with your client base.
4. It Establishes you as An Expert A blog helps establish you as an expert in your field, and if you regularly update it with relevant content, you reinforce the idea that you know what you are talking about. Making sure you update your blog frequently with content that is valuable to readers also helps establish you as their go-to person when it comes to your particular niche, be it consulting, editing or any other type of business. By blogging regularly, you are building a visible presence on the web and also fostering relationships with potential customers while establishing your expertise for your particular niche.
5. It Gives you a Voice Every business needs a voice, and a blog is a simple way to do that. These days, anyone can post anything online about a company, be it good or bad. By starting a blog for your business, you can help manage your reputation and give your business the voice and authority it needs to thrive. The marketplace for any business is normally competitive, so by starting a blog that you update regularly, you are giving your company a voice on the internet. Customers can read your posts and establish in their minds that you are a credible authority, and you can interact with them frequently while establishing your reputation on the web. While there are many reasons your business should have a blog, these are the most compelling reasons. If you haven’t started a blog for your business yet, you definitely should – it’s a cost effective, easy way to interact with your existing customer base, gaining new customers and establishing your expertise.

Who’s Sending the Most Traffic to Your Blog?

About this topic Brian Gardner has sent me an e-mail containing the article that I have quoted below.

I’ve written more blog posts in the past 2 weeks than I have in the past year – well, not really, but it’s pretty close if you can believe that.
So it’s natural that I’ve spent time inside my Google Analytics account, which was obvious since I recently posted a graph that shows Google Chrome will overtake Mozilla Firefox.

If You Dig Deep Enough, You Might Find Something

While I was in my analytics account, I decided that I would check out one more thing – traffic referrals to my website. To my surprise, here is what I found:

I don’t get a ton of traffic here on my personal blog – no where close to the amount of traffic that < a href=http://www.studiopress.com/>StudioPress gets – but I found something very interesting, nonetheless.
Prior to the launch of Google Plus, the #1 referrer to my site was easily Google (the search engine). Even though Analytics considers that organic traffic, I place that in the generic “how people get to my site” group.
Let’s Throw Out Google Search Traffic and Focus on Social Media
As I had mentioned above, I’ve published 4 blog posts over the past two weeks, and treated them all the same in regards to sharing them on my social media outlets – Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.
In other words, when I published a post, I’d link to it through all of the aforementioned social media accounts just to see what would happen.
It’s quite obvious from the traffic numbers in the analytics chart above, that Google Plus was the #1 leading referral source to my blog, followed up by Twitter and Facebook.

Drawing Some (Very Basic) Conclusions From This Data

I don’t think that the results from this experiment are groundbreaking, nor do I think they would apply to all bloggers and websites.
But what I can say, is that it shows that Google Plus is going to definitely going to be a part of my daily social media routine. From sharing links to general comments and conversation with my tech friends online, I will certainly make my appearance there.
So how about you? Who sends the most traffic to your blog?
You can either talk about other websites, or preferably talk about social media sources.

How to Promote Your Sites

These tips actually have been much discussed in the sites by the senior bloggers. But maybe there are some colleagues who didn’t read them. So I describe again below
the information that I have taken from various sources.

Publicity is 90% done by the internet business. Without your blog or web publicity there would be no visitors at all. So, how to increase traffic web visitors? Here are some steps of publications ...

1. Join many communities or forums

Create a separate email specifically for the main e-mail mailing list so that you are not disturbed by the arrival of many emails.
Some Community Forums:
http://groups.yahoo.com/
http://groups.google.com/
http://www.blogcatalog.com/groups/popular/

2. Link / Banner Exchange

Make a banner or link exchange URLs with other domain owners.

3. Search Engines
Submit your URL to many search engines:
Register your adsense URL manually into several search engines:

4. Offline promotion

Most of internet businesses have never done this offline promotion. But the offline promotion is also useful. I think you know about Multi Level Marketing business, or any other business that does not use the internet. But they were also able to make publication without the internet. They use stickers, posters, or any other kind of offline promotion.

Speed Obsession

Who is not obsessed with speed ? I guess everyone will strive to improve the speed included in the search of information on the internet.

The site reflects the speed of how fast the website responds web request. People will quickly switch to another website when they visit a website slow loading pages.Accelerating website speed is very important, not only to the owner of the site, but for all internet users. Faster sites would make users feel happy. The increasing the speed of site also reduce operational costs.

According to the above mentioned information, Google has decided to take site speed into account in search rankings.

Writer Revenue News

Yesterday I received a good news from Technorati , as mentioned below.

“We want to make Technorati.com and Blogcritics.org the most fun and inviting places possible for writers to call home. As a result, on April 1 we implemented an exciting new feature for our writers. All member writers who've updated their profiles with information about their AdSense account will receive a dedicated AdSense ad on each of their articles, with revenues generated from that ad going to them. This approach will also provide the added benefit of traffic data to our writers.

To begin with, this will be a six-month trial, but we will be looking at various metrics including article volume, promotion participation, traffic, new members, higher article output per writer, etc, in order to support its continuation. We've already seen a substantial increase in participation and writer reaction has been overwhelmingly positive!”

If you love to write and want to expand your audience and improve your craft in an exciting and supportive atmosphere, Blogcritics and Technorati both offer you unlimited opportunities for expression and exposure. We are proud to count some of the web's best amateur and professional writers among our global membership of more than 3000 writers.

Whatever your interests, your writing will find a home at one (or both!) of our sites. Our "big tent" policy invites all points of view and the topics you can write about are limited only by your own interests and imagination. Our active community of writers and our open comments policy provide you the opportunity to engage in dialog on a diversity of topics with readers and writers from around the globe.

Thanking to Technorati, herewith, I suggest to my blogging friends to write also on Technorati like me.

My First Writing Published on Technorati

Five months ago I was approved to write on Technorati. However, for several reasons, partly because my English was not perfect yet, then my article was rejected and could not be published on Technorati.

As I mentioned in my article before about "Time Has Come to Write for Technorati" on my site ON-MAGAZINE, I was not surprised when they commented about my English writing, because I am not English native speaker. I am fully aware that I am writing in English while still thinking in Indonesian. Therefore, I should improve my English writing to become really a Technorati Writer. Then I tried once again to send other writings, but they still did not want to receive them due to the same reasons.

They sent me an e-mail and stated: “Thank you for taking another shot at your article on depression treatment. I had to move it back to drafts because it's still not ready to be published. Unfortunately, a majority of the piece has bad sentence structure and doesn't flow well.”

But I did not give up. I tried again and again to continue to improve my writing quality. And finally I succeeded. Yesterday I received an automatically-generated email:

”An article of yours has just been published on Technorati.com .
Thank you! You can now blog or tweet about this article, this bundle of HTML might help: New Perspectives for Depression Treatment

There are now widgets for digg.com and twitter.com on article pages; please help get the ball rolling by retweeting your article, and see where things go from there! Thanks again!”

Earn More Money Through Selling Text Links

The most effective way now to earn money is by blogging. No wonder a lot of webmasters became rich just by blogging. But there is another way for bloggers to earn more. It is through selling text links on their blogs. Webmasters and any bloggers will have the opportunity to make a great deal of money online because some websites provide services like renting quality links.

What should the blogger do to sell text links on his blog? If you really want to control your ads, you can do the selling of text links through your blogs. If you sell these text links directly, you can totally cut off the share of the middleman, thus you will have a hundred percent share of the sales. Also you will establish a relationship with the different advertisers.

First, always write blogs that will create high traffic. Secondly, look for potential advertisers because these advertisers are very limited. Then, on your blog put an advertisement page. Include major details like traffic stats, prices and other information that will be useful for the site visitor, and that will catch their attention as well. Other bloggers advertise their selling text links through posting on different webmaster forums like Site Point and DigitalPoint. Also, they place them on different classified ads sites.

There are a lot of Text Link brokers that are available online. Some of the most popular text link brokers are Text-Link-Ads, LinkWorth, BackLinks, Adbrite and many more. Just visit their sites and choose the best one for you. These are the ways to monetize through selling text links on your blogs. Always think positive and everything will go you way. Sell text links through your blog and make a huge amount of money online.

How To Increase Website Traffic

A few days ago, my friend Brayden gave me a suggestion how to increase website traffic in order to increase PageRank of our blogs. He wrote in his comments that the best way to increase website traffic quickly is writing a newsletter. Writing a weekly newsletter would be ideal but is not required. If you write an article for newsletters from time to time you will notice the increased website traffic.

Another suggestion I got from VogueIcon because this website is either a Fashion Community or a social networking area.

Trying to be Better in Blogging

What is Page Rank ? I think you all know the answer, especially the senior bloggers. Page Rank is one of important conditions if we want to have high traffic for our blogs, so we can get many visitors on our blogs.
As a new blogger, frankly speaking it is not easy to get many visitors in a short of time. You must work hard and smart every day and night. You must have many friends in blogging world. You must discuss the blogging problems through many forums or communities.

Fortunately I have some senior blogger friends, like Brian Gardner and Kang Rohman who have intensely given blog templates and blog tutorial to me. That’s why I would like to appreciate and thank them very much for their attention and patiently efforts to teach me how to build qualified and unique blogs.

For increasing Page Rank you have to follow the following rules:
1. Each blogger must post these rules
2. Each blogger starts with ten random facts / habits about themselves
3. Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose ten people to get tagged and list their names.
4. Do not forget to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and to read your blog.

Enjoy and Happy Blogging !
