Goetze scores late to give Germany the World Cup

Goetze scored the winning goal in extra time to give Germany a 1-0 victory over Argentina on Sunday in a tight and tense World Cup final that came down to one piece of individual skill.
For more detailed information please read the news that I have quoted from The Jakarta Post below.
With two quick touches, Mario Goetze ended Germany's 24-year wait for another World Cup title. Goetze scored the winning goal in extra time to give Germany a 1-0 victory over Argentina on Sunday in a tight and tense World Cup final that came down to one piece of individual skill.
Goetze, who wasn't born when West Germany beat Argentina in the 1990 final, controlled a cross with his chest in the 113th minute and in one fluid motion volleyed the ball past goalkeeper Sergio Romero and inside the far post. It was a goal that gave Germany its fourth World Cup title in its eighth final, and left Argentina star Lionel Messi still walking in the shadow of his compatriot Diego Maradona, who led his country to the 1986 title. Goetze had come on as a substitute for Miroslav Klose at the end of regulation time and the 22-year-old midfielder's fresh legs made the difference.
Andre Schuerrle broke down the left flank, sending his cross into the area, and the Bayern Munich player did the rest with a clinical finish. The goal echoed that of Andres Iniesta's four years ago, when the midfielder scored in similar fashion but from the other side of the area to give Spain a 1-0 extra time win over the Netherlands.
For Germany, the win ends a string of near misses since winning its last major title at the 1996 European Championship. The team lost the 2002 World Cup final to Brazil and lost in the semifinals in both 2006 and 2010. It is Germany's first World Cup title as a unified nation. It was also the third World Cup final between these countries and had been billed as a matchup between the perfect team and the perfect individual, pitting Germany's machine-like unit against the brilliance of Messi, the four-time world player of the year. But in the biggest game of his career, Messi came up short. He had one good chance to score when he was sent free in the area just after the halftime break, but sent his shot wide of the far post. It was a difficult angle, but still the type of chance he so often scores from. Messi threatened intermittently throughout the match, but was effectively neutralized for long stretches. When he did try to break forward with one of his quick dribbles, he was surrounded by the German defense. His free kick in the 120th minute went well high. When the final whistle blew, Germany players collapsed in a pile in the middle of the pitch, while Messi walked with his hands on his hips toward the center circle. Up until the winning goal, the game was more notable for top-class defending than creative attacking, but both teams had their share of chances.
Gonzalo Higuain wasted an opportunity by firing wide when gifted a chance in a one-on-one with Neuer, and later had a goal ruled out for offside. Germany defender Benedikt Hoewedes hit the post just before halftime with a header from a corner, and ineffective finishing plagued both sides the rest of the way.

Crop Circles Phenomenon in Indonesia

On Sunday, January 23, 2011 a phenomenon of strange circles emerged in the rice field area in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Although not specifically referring to the phenomenon what it is, but with reference to the pictures included, as well as other photographs that later appeared on the internet, the observer is convinced that it is the UFO phenomenon what is known as "Crop Circle", and generally a lot appears in the UK.

Crop circles is a regular pattern that forms mysteriously in the area of crop fields, often overnight. The phenomenon was first discovered in Britain late 1970, with a simple circle patterns. In those days thereafter, this pattern tends to get complicated and not limited to one circle.

A community of UFO watchers who call themselves BetaUFO Indonesia, then declared that the crop circles found in Yogyakarta, is not manmade. This conclusion was drawn after they sent a team to the location on Monday (24 January, 2011).

According to their research, the lying paddy at the site was not damaged. This is one indication that the crop circles were not made by man.

The second mysterious crop circles then were found again in Bantul (near Sleman) Yogyakarta on Tuesday, 25 January, 2011.

Is this natural or UFO phenomenon ?
If you have any idea, please leave comment here.

Twin Disasters in Indonesia

Two natural disasters have occurred almost simultaneously in Indonesia. A volcanic eruption and tsunami killed dozens of people in separate locations with a distance of hundreds of miles.

On Tuesday (26 October 2010) Mount Merapi in Central Java erupted, killing at least 25 people, while thousands of others forced to flee deep into the mountain slopes safer. The volcano has been spewing high-temperature ash and smoke to the air above the island of Java.

Meanwhile, in the Mentawai islands that exist off the coast of western Sumatra, which lies about 800 miles west of Mount Merapi, on Sunday (24 October 2010) had an earthquake to 7.2 on the Richter scale, followed by tsunami waves with a height of 10-feet . Devastating tsunami waves had swept hundreds of homes, killing at least 150 residents of local communities, while there were about 500 people missing.

In 2006 Mount Merapi had erupted, killing two people. Similar eruptions occurred on 1994, killing 60 people. While the explosion in 1930 killed 1,300 people.

At first, many local villagers refused to move from the fertile slopes of the volcano. They said they want to stay there while protecting homes and their possessions. However, due to increasingly desperate situation, then the thousands of villagers began flocking to places of refugee in emergency shelters Tuesday night.

According to the news broadcast on television , the victims died have already reached more than 25 people, while dozens of people in critical condition since suffering serious burns from hot clouds that glide brunt of Tuesday evening . The victims were taken to hospitals in Yogyakarta.

Before that, the volunteers try to help displaced residents living near the crater of Mount Merapi. Unfortunately not all people who want to leave his home which was in danger of heat clouds from time to time to slide down, sweeping everything in its path. Those who did not want to evacuate that ultimately killed on Tuesday night.

Hillary Clinton Laments Global Crackdown of Human Rights

U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Sunday, July 4, 2010, after visiting Poland. On America's Independence Day, she announced to regret the global crackdown on human rights. In Poland she declared the same issue that really slowing down the development of democracy.

"We must be wary of the steel vise in which governments around the world are slowly crushing civil society and the human spirit," Clinton said.

At the international conference of democracy and human rights in Poland, she recalled Winston Churchill's warning 60 years ago that an iron curtain was descending across Europe. She noted that with the collapse of the Soviet Union that curtain no longer remains.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan ‘s President Ilham Aliyev wished Clinton a happy Independence Day and then stressed the urgency of his country’s territorial dispute with neighboring Armenia. The two nations are in conflict since a 1994 cease-fire.

Clinton said her current trip began in Ukraine and is to include stops in the former Soviet states of Armenia and Georgia. The objective is to demonstrate the Obama administration's commitment to democracy and human rights.

She recommended that the Community of Democracies set up an independent means of monitoring repressive measures against social advocacy groups, and that the U.N. Human Rights Council do more to protect civil society. She announced that the U.S. would contributed $2 million to support the work of embattled non-governmental organizations.

Nuclear Vessels Development in Argentina

Article first published as Nuclear Vessels Development in Argentina on Technorati.

Nilda Garre, Argentine Minister of Defense , announced recently the possibility of reviewing the idea of using nuclear reactors to power some of its naval vessels. She said that the country wants to maintain its position of leadership in industrial and technological skills in the area, and that Argentina does not want to be left out of nuclear propulsion technology.

Therefore, an evaluation will be carried out to determine if the technical resources are available for Argentina to develop its own nuclear vessels. Small pressurized water reactors are being considered, because they have already been used in the fleets of China, France, India, Russia, the UK and USA.
Russia is already using nuclear power for a fleet of civil icebreakers, and that technology is now being used to develop nuclear power stations that allow for small marine reactors to be placed on transportable barges.

One potential supplier of reactors suitable for requirements would be the nuclear technology firm Invap, which has already developed several research reactors as well as the Carem power plant design.

My Third Writing on Technorati

According to a press release issued by LAPAN (Institute of Aeronautics and Space Indonesia) recently, solar storms are expected to begin increasing in 2012, peaking between 2012 and 2015. The impact of these explosions in the sun can be very serious, having a variety of effects on Earth.

Physicist Dr Michio Kaku has said that the main impact of the solar storms in 2012 will be on high technology equipments such as satellites, internet, television networks and telecommunications systems. Dr Michio Kaku suggested that steps should be taken to reinforce the satellites and create redundant power systems. In the United States, President Obama has already earmarked billions to be spent on the US power grid.
The solar activities may also contribute to climate change. However, when compared to greenhouse gasses, most scientists believe the impact is minimal.
