Antiques and Things

Actually I knew that the antique goods was not just plain junk. These things still have value, especially if treated properly. There are even items that hard to find, so that they have very high price. Many people even like to hunt for antiques & things, like the famous masterpieces made by Leonardo da Vinci , Van Gogh , Rembrandt and so on.

In our country, Indonesia, we have some famous painters too. One of them was Affandi

In fact, there are also some antic goods in my house, for example several old ceramic pottery from China and a Butterfly sewing machine. Anyway this machine has been abandoned for at least 15 years. I bet this sewing machine is older than my youngest daughter Henny who recently finished her graduate study in Japan. It's just a simple manual sewing machine, and it needed to be repair here and there.

Useful Tips From Senior Blogger (Part Two)

After sharing his experience here , my senior blogger friend Brian Gardner sent me again yesterday similar tips that I have quoted below.

Five Elements to Building a Successful Blog

1. Write Well and Write Often

I have to admit that for me this might be the most challenging one. Our lives today are filled with tasks and to-do lists. Filled with places we have to go. Calls we have to make and so on. It’s critical that you blog frequently. Not every post has to be a novel, or a home run. But to establish traction and movement with your audience, you should be blogging at least 2-3 times a week. If not more.

2. Understand That it Requires Patience

As the saying goes – Rome wasn’t built in a day. Unfortunately for people who want to get rich quick, this is a tragically accurate statement. While I suppose it is possible to create a successful blog while having it built on sand, it won’t take but a wave or two to come crashing down before it’s wiped out. Yes, that means you need to be patient and work hard. It means that like an Olympic athlete, you need to train and not just try.

3. Network Yourself With Others

When I first started out blogging and creating themes for WordPress, I sought relationships with others in the space. The most important person I networked with was Cory Miller. Back in those days, we spent a lot of time brainstorming and talking about our journey. It consisted of moral support, but also paved the way to meeting other folks within our niche. It’s important to get to know the leaders in your space, and to understand what made them successful. As you get to know them, there’s a good chance that they introduce you to others as well.

4. Build a Community

For me, this step was easy – as I’ve always been a people-person and a gatherer. Whether it be comments on your blog, or establishing a forum on your site – engaging people and interacting with them is essential in building a successful blog. Communities are born out of passion – passion for a sports team, passion for a brand of computer, or passion for way of life. After all, isn’t that what social media and the idea of viral loops are all about?

5. Hang in There and Stay Strong

A few months ago I ran a 1/2 marathon – something I never dreamed I could do. I’ll have to admit that more than halfway into the race I was ready to throw in the towel. For me, I had hit the wall. I wanted to give up. Building a successful blog in some ways is similar to long distance running. There’s usually a time where you want to call it quits. Ask any successful blogger if they’ve encountered this. I can guarantee every one of them will say yes.

Thanks a lot, Brian !

Let Us Keep Smiling !

My senior blogger friend Colson has inspired me by his writing here , especially about Timothy Treadwell .
There were many sick jokes I heard when I was studying abroad several years ago. One of them was this for instance.

But instead of sick houmors, I like also to read clean ones, for example this.

I think it is good if you have a habit to read or listen to something funny that could make you feel happy.

Would you add other jokes or funny stories ? I’d appreciate much them, of course.

Keep Smiling !

Useful Tips From Senior Blogger

For a new blogger like me, the tips sent by my senior blogger friend Brian Gardner as I quoted below, is very useful.

If you’re anything like me, you periodically find yourself in front of your computer, with your WordPress dashboard open, staring at your monitor like a deer in headlights.
You’re having content brainfarts.
There you sit, experiencing content emaciation, with little direction on which way to go. You had all of these great ideas, and now that you’re on the main stage of starting a blog post… you freeze.

You Are Not Alone – No, Really I Mean It

Trust me, this is normal. Absolutely normal. At least I’m hoping it is, because this is the kind of thing I deal with every time I sit down to write a blog post. So if it’s not normal, and you struggle with the same thing, at least we can cope together.
I’m here to tell you that there’s hope. There’s a way for us to come together and produce quality content – you know, the kind of content that draws linkbacks, retweets, and comments from your users. I’ve cobbled together a list of places to find what you’re looking for – the holy grail.

Places to Find Inspiration for Blog Content

Similar Blogs in Your Niche

Yes, this one is pretty obvious. If you write about underwater basket weaving, why not visit other blogs that cover the topic. Reading content that is written by others, and is drawing attention and conversation is proof in itself, that you can have an audience. Now, please hear me when I say this – I’m NOT saying that you should copy their content. I’m saying that you should be inspired by it. Huge difference.

Do a Twitter Search

There are literally millions of people who babble online (in 140 characters or less) about everything from the Grammy’s to yes, underwater basket weaving. ( here’s proof ) What better way to write content about a subject that you know people are already talking about. Scan through the results of a Twitter search, and see if there’s commonality in what they are saying. See if people are asking questions, and if so – write about it.

Subscribe to Google Alerts

This is something that I’ve been doing more and more lately. It’s pretty genius, as a matter of fact, that though Google Alerts we have the capability of having targeted inspiration delivered to our inbox literally minutes after it’s posted. If you want to cover that latest breaking news in underwater basket weaving, setup an alert to have Google send you links to blog posts and news articles as they happen. This is also a great chance to link to the source that you reference in your post, which might probe the source author to check out your own site.

“For Dummies” Books

Yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble for this very reason – I want to write more about my experiences with blogging and the internet, but I freeze every time I’m in front of the blog writing camera. So I did exactly what I’m telling you now. I purchased 4 “For Dummies” books, with the intent on reading them to provide inspiration for new content. All you really need to do is rip out the table of contents of each one, as that should give you all the inspiration you require to kickstart your content producing endeavors

Thank you so much, Brian !

Anti Aging Drugs Gerovital

There is no magical age for wanting to look younger. Thirty-year olds want to look 20 while forty-somethings wish to be 30. It's a never-ending cycle when you're trying to fight nature and its plans to age you and your skin.

Inflammation is a factor in many ailments and the aging of your skin is no exception. When cellular inflammation occurs, certain collagen-destroying chemicals are released. Collagen is the element that gives skin its elasticity and keeps it flexible. As you can imagine, when it becomes dilapidated your skin will start to look older.

Gerovital was discovered by Dr. Ana Aslan from the National Institute of Gerontology and Geriatrics in Romania. She was the first to seriously investigate the possibilities of procaine as a tool in the fight against aging. Dr Aslan recognised that procaine in a sense "attacks" the body's cells by numbing them. The body counterattacks with the enzyme cholinesterase. Cholinesterase hydrolyses the procaine in about one hour . Dr Aslan speculated that the compound could be stabilised so that it would not numb the cells. The body would not then reject it and the regenerative effects would be extended

Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan showed the effectiveness of Gerovital H3 in rheumatism, depressive states and atherosclerosis, hair regeneration, Parkinson's disease and re-pigmentation, vitiligo and other chronic diseases.

Oprah's Big Give Show

After watching Oprah's Big Give on television show, suddenly appear an idea in my head to make the Big Give Online on the Internet too. The goal of this site will be similar to the purpose of Oprah's Big Give, which bring relief to the people who are suffering because of one thing and then try to help them. This objective is indeed a noble goal for every human being during the life, i.e. seeking opportunities to help others . So we can say that Life is sharing . Life is helping each other. Life is loving among people

According to Wikipedia Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954. She is an American television host, actress, producer, and philanthropist, best known for her self-titled, multi-award winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history. She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and was once the world's only black billionaire. She is also, according to some assessments, the most influential woman in the world.

Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighborhood. She experienced considerable hardship during her childhood, including being raped at the age of nine and becoming pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, a barber inTennessee, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime talk show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place she launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated.

I think we would feel so happy if we could help other people like Oprah Winfrey.

Good Luck !
